3 Youths Gang-Rape Teenager On Footbal Pitch

Three youths, Chizoba Amara, 23, ThankGod Okoro, 23, and Godwin Godday, 20, have been arraigned before a Lagos court for gang-rape and trespassing into a football field where they allegedly molested a teenager, named withheld.

The youths allegedly lured an 18-year old girl to Loco football field at Nigerian Railway Coporation compound in Ebutte Metta, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, and molested the victim in turns.

P.M.NEWS learnt that some security guards attached to the corporation caught the suspects while they were allegedly molesting the girl and handed them over to the police at Railway division.

However, there was a twist to the alleged crime when the suspects confessed of having sex with the victim with her consent.

One of the suspects, Godday, said they were not the only youths in the area that often take their girls to the field  to made love with them because they do not have money to pay for a hotel accommodation.

But the victim claimed that she was lured into the place and they forcefully had sex with her.

She also told the police that after they molested her, the suspects collected N3,000 and her phone from her.

The police told the suspects that the place was meant for playing football and not a place to make sexual intercourse.

When they were arraigned in court, they pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs M. O. Tanimola granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

They were, however, remanded in prison custody pending the perfection of their bail.

The matter was adjourned till 17 July, 2013.
