Police arrest cow, chairs, as boy, 13, dies in Ota carnival violence

Image
There was tension at the Oruba quarters in Ota, Ogun State, Saturday morning, as a 13-year-old-boy was stabbed to death during a carnival which turned violent. Several people, including old women and men have been arrested by the Sango Ota divisional police station in connection with the incident. There was, however, a mild drama as policemen also arrested the cow and chairs bought for the carnival. An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, said that the problem started on Friday night when Oruba youths organised a pre-carnival before the Saturday event. Trouble started when a street urchin in the area, accused a 13-year-old boy of stepping on his feet. The deceased, identified as Azeez, had hardly said a word when the urchin allegedly broke a bottle, stabbed him in the neck and ran away. The incident brought a temporary halt to the carnival as the reveller tried to assist the injured boy who died on a bike on the way to the hospital. Sunday Tribune gathere...

Beyonce  went bare-faced on Thursday as she and husband Jay-Z  took their 15-month-old for a meal at Septime restaurant in Paris.  Jay-Z is currently accompanying  Beyoncé  on tour and their bouncing baby Blue Ivy is getting to see the world too. In other news, Beyonce has placed a ban on press photographers at her concerts in an apparent bid not to be caught looking less than her best. John Dumelo with some shisha in Istanbul, Turkey. First of all, I want to thank everyone who gave feedback on last week’s exciting experimental premier episode of “#WorkFlow”  {click here}   on BN . It was a fun experience reading all the good and bad reviews on what it was, and what it should be. If anything at all, I took home that it should be a lot more organized so that’s how this second, still experimental  “#WorkFlow” is going to be. Once again, your feedback would really be appreciated. For those who didn’t see last week’s (link above),  “#WorkFlow”  is basically a column where I can give you all the latest big (and small)  ‘gist’  of what’s been going on in the industry. That is, the  ‘news’  news and the  ‘not-so-news’  news. Why it’s called ‘#WorkFlow’  you might ask? That’s gist for another day. This time around,  “#WorkFlow” has been broken down into six distinct...
